    Farewell to Fouli

A travel blog entry by arwie on Jul 16, 2014

Into Charakopio and meet Sitaris. Insists that we come to see him as he has a large pot of olive oil for us. Sadly no time before we leave (and realistically, no room in the van for more olive oil). Last dinner at Foulis, sitting outside watching the world go by. Very pleasant though only semi understood chats with Ianni, Foulis and their son Michaelis. Lots of hugs goodbye and gifts of ouzo, olives and olive oil. I am sure we will see them ...

    Birthday Present(s)

Sitting with Mick and Gill in their pretty garden with wine, ouzo and meze made the whole thing even more memorable. You can see some of Gill's work on facebook.com/gilltomlinsonart or wait for me to get home and unpack my ...

Up at 7 and straight down to Gargarou beach with dogs. We swim and play then home by 9.30. Then out to lunch with the lovely Gargarou crew to Niko's Taverna for roast pork. Patrick has managed to make a bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice and get Ann and David to buy champagne without me knowing. So Sunday lunch with bucks fizz as well as a good quantity of Niko's home made rose. Niko stays up all ...

    Pylos to Koroni

Wandered into Pylos for coffee and to catch up on facebook and skype, then headed off for a short drive, with the aim of visiting the castels at Methoni and Koroni. Methoni was a pretty extensive old fort on a peninsular.

Driving into Koroni turned into a bit of debacle of tiny narrow cobbled streets and squares - found ourselves down in the middle ...
