... a perfect way to end a day. Another evening we went on a mission to find a kayak, as we had been told it was a must do to paddle out to sea at night time to see the plankton. We managed to find one, but to my horror, as we both sat in it it sank! As you can imagine I was not pleased! I was showered, wearing clean clothes, which were now wet and sandy, and we were about to go out to sea in the pitch black! So, attempt number two, a blow up dingy...which was not so blown ...

Steady wind about 50mph with gusts exceeding 100!!! So today's itinerary is on hold until lunchtime....Nice group of people, loads of good food and comfortable accommodation, shame about the weather.... We have driven south east from Reykjavik around ...

Rise and shine! Kr gets up for sunrise for a change and enjoys nature's spectacle while her companions more than willingly stay in bed. When it comes to early morning snorkeling, though, they jump out of bed to seize the opportunity to see the coral reefs. By 7am we are done with fish watching and our morning workout, which may or may not have become routine by now. With heavy hearts we depart from our little haven ...

      Another day in paradise

... Milkshakes for adults are followed by a nightly snorkeling trip (lest we actually dry completely for a change) to see the Plankton. Picture this: a clear night sky lit up by millions of stars above us; below in the water we are surrounded by what seems to be their reflection but really is sparkles that react to every gentle touch. A truly magical night. Too soon we have to leave the water as the next thunderstorm approaches and our beds beckon. Good night from ...
