As I passed through the villages I could see brightly colored Hindu temples – the dominant color seems to be red, even more brightly colored Tamil temples (favorite color: yellow) decked with many statues of strange-looking gods. I passed a mosque, typically painted in green and white.

And they did feel bad. They made this apparent when they created an agenda of fun activities to fill the day we would have regularly spent drinking on paradise. Firstly, on the eve of what would have been Mauritius day, they held a large dance party on the top deck. They even served us drinks! Wine or beer. 3 drinks maximum. What a party!!
