A little bit of paradise in a bustling town.

We stayed in what they called the honeymoon suite only because it was the only room available. The AC was welcomed because it is fairly hot on the coast. The grounds are nicely shaded with a nice pool to cool off. The grounds are also gated and a gated parking lot for our rental car. Nice feature. The communal kitchen was also a welcomed feature.

We left Santa Elena via a nice, air-conditioned shuttle van. We had one potty stop at a roadside restaurant that had huge mango trees complete with a number of macaws sitting in the shade. There appeared to be three different varieties but, I could only get a picture of the scarlet macaws. The shuttle bus took us to the Thrifty Car Rental just …

... of my "surfing time" tumbling around in the waves and washing sand out of my shorts. But I did eventually manage to stand up, albeit not for very long.

Towards the end of the week, we were ready for a change of scenery, so we drove an hour south to Playa Callejones. It was a magnificent beach and we were the only ones there, but the waves were a little intense for us. Caroline and Catherine splashed around for a while in the shallow waters, but we didn’t ...

... about everything and anything. Conversation switched from Spanish to English to Italian, sometimes mid sentence. Language did not seem to matter that day. God, I wish I could describe it for you, but there are no words. My last sunset was like a scene from a movie. I was with the ones I had quickly grown to love, in a place that I loved, watching the most beautiful thing I loved: the sunset in Tamarindo. My goodbye dinner ...

I can't even how lucky the locals must feel.
At the end of our day, we headed to get a meal in the village. It was a quaint little restaurant, and we had to order our meal in spanish. I struggled a little bit, but the waitress luckily understood what I meant. It was delicious!
Tomorrow is our last day, but as the locals would say, "Pura Vida!"

... mud bath, sauna & swimming pool. It was music to our ears & Jeff tells her, "we'll take it". By now a little man has showed up with fresh "welcome" drinks.

We drive up to the restaurant & can't believe what we have come across, it is everything we could wish for after such a ****** morning. We devour our spa lunch & then head down to the spa to put on swim suits & start pampering ourselves.
