... came a new pump. Yay! Off we go across the bay to finish the cleaning, provisioning and preparing. Cleaning includes washing, waxing and buffing the hull. Ugh! So when a local said he would do all of that for us for $100 USD we jumped at the offer. Only problem was, he would need half the money in advance so he could buy the very best products. We forked over $50. Next day he comes back and says he can't work today ...

... realized he had plenty of time to wait his turn. He decided to use it to fill the water tanks. He connected the water hose, turned on the water and waited for the tank to fill. And he waited. Often the water pressure is low on the docks and filling the tanks can be slow. And still he waited. He thought maybe he should take a peek inside the boat. What he saw was not good. ... that train, feeling so bad we couldn't even speak to each other. Eventually we arrived in los mochis (a boring and inhospitable town) and stayed in a hugely expensive really rank hotel. But the next day would be different! We wo mkuld get the 8am bus to guaymas, and then the overnight ferry to Santa roslalia, and then we'd be in the land of sea and sun and nice hostels!

Obviously it all went tits up.

We got to the bus station at 7.10 to find out it had moved ...

... have been one served back in the U.S.

The hotel was the first opportunity to access an ATM on this trip for pesos. It was in the hotel lobby. We did not stop at a bank or any currency exchange on this trip. I obtained $100 of pesos in the Houston airport en route to Phoenix. A solo traveler could probably get by with less than that on this trip as many places accept U.S. currency. I do recommend that if you travel in this part of Mexico ...

After 4 nights here we are off to Villa Tortugas in Celestina Gasca for another 4 day stay at this camp site that we all really enjoyed so much our first time on the way down.
