... came a new pump. Yay! Off we go across the bay to finish the cleaning, provisioning and preparing. Cleaning includes washing, waxing and buffing the hull. Ugh! So when a local said he would do all of that for us for $100 USD we jumped at the offer. Only problem was, he would need half the money in advance so he could buy the very best products. We forked over $50. Next day he comes back and says he can't work today ...

... realized he had plenty of time to wait his turn. He decided to use it to fill the water tanks. He connected the water hose, turned on the water and waited for the tank to fill. And he waited. Often the water pressure is low on the docks and filling the tanks can be slow. And still he waited. He thought maybe he should take a peek inside the boat. What he saw was not good. ... a great diversity of birds and sea life. We were required to be accompanied by a guide, who happened to be a great birder himself. We saw three types of herons, pelicans, shorebirds, ducks, some great cardinals and more. After returning to our camp for lunch, we then went for a great hike for about 2 hours up a canyon where there were some great oasis of palms.

We are getting to know our traveling ...

... that train, feeling so bad we couldn't even speak to each other. Eventually we arrived in los mochis (a boring and inhospitable town) and stayed in a hugely expensive really rank hotel. But the next day would be different! We wo mkuld get the 8am bus to guaymas, and then the overnight ferry to Santa roslalia, and then we'd be in the land of sea and sun and nice hostels!

Obviously it all went tits up.

We got to the bus station at 7.10 to find out it had moved ...

... An ideal spot for watching whales and dolphins as well as the typical activity of the pelicans and other bird life, there is no need to go anywhere or even to get out of your camp chair to see the dolphins playing in the water.
