CoCo Bongo
Yesterday was the final evening for the second leg of our trip. For the special occasion, we went to CoCo Bongo here in Playa del Carmen. Oh my goodness was it fantastic! It's Mexico captain, but not as we know it
... didn't feel like Mexico at all. The beach has the whitest sand you could imagine and the water on a sunny day shows as a beautiful turquoise colour. The palm trees frame it and the whole effect is picture-postcard perfect. The warm waters of the Caribbean sea are protected by an offshore reef that means that the waves gently lap the shore. The first main excursion for us all was to the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum. Craig and I both preferred this site to all the other ruins that we had seen, largely due to its setting by the sea (and the fact that after 30 mins or so, we ditched the sightseeing and plunged into the ocean!) This was a far more pleasant way to spend a boiling hot afternoon :) ...

... that cant be described in words. All I can say is put this on your list of places to visit before you get too old. Im not going to write a long history of the Ruins, just going to post some pics to get you interested. The history is very interesting though, I recommend reading about it.
If you are looking for a great getaway for two on a budget, this is a great option. Plenty to do and see and very relaxing.

... Des mangroves avec ses crocodiles et serpents au nord de l`ile, des plages exotiques fourmilliantes de petits crabes, et sans oublier les fonds marins colorés et la vie qui s`y trouve. C`est au souffle d`un vent doux et chaud que se déroulent nos journées...
