... take your picture' eased as they all put on big grins and shovelled harder, pleased to be noticed I think.

All the time I was there and over subsequent visits, they never stop the machine or their working to feed it as it presses out one brick at a time. The 'pressing machine' is powered by a big red generator linked to the machine. The noise level is high continuously.

There is a huge pile of mixed dark grey sand and gravel and somewhere in there some form ...

... fine. A couple of large Bintang beers, a steak sandwich and chicken satay, sat at a table on the beach as close to the sea as we could possibly get. All for less than a tenner, including a large bottle of water to take home with us. I could get used to this! Talking of which, Kirsty said she is properly relaxed being here. Ermm, so tomorrow we up sticks to head somewhere else.... PS: August 17th, Independence day in Indonesia, flags are awaving everywhere. ...

... peanut satay for $2.50 and other rice dishes for around the same price were well worth it. Our most surprising meal by far was a $1.10 meal in a little Warung near the Surf/Kite shop. Once again back into Kuala Lumpur for a few days and then on the 6th i head back to the Turtle project. I will be there for about 3 months before I have to do another visa run so I doubt if you will hear from me for a while but at least my blog is finally up to date.
