Today we have booked a trip with Laumzis Sun Cruises for a trip to Nisyros, a volcanic Island. This is a big tour group, so it actually took longer for the bus to pick everyone up from their hotels than it did to make the cruise to the island. We were amazed at how big Kos actually was. We have been staying in a hotel not far from where the ferry that bought us docked. There is a vibrant downtown area on the pier & we thought that was all there was ...

We spend most of the time jumping from the ship into the warm, clear water of the sea. Soon lunch is served & it is delicious. Lots & Lots of food! We had beautiful weather, the people we met on board were fun, and it was truly an experience we will remember ...

We asked Ayzin to make dinner for the kids only, so that the adults could have an evening out. We found a ...

      Discovering the ruins of Knidos

We made a quick stop in Knidos, since the winds were still high and we couldn't stay overnight here. Knidos had a couple of claims to fame: it was the home of one of the inventors of geometry, and it has some of the best ruins on the Turkish coast from over 2000 years ago. Despite the winds, Captain Guner managed to moor us for a couple of hours in the bay so that we could see the old footprints of homes and buildings, fallen columns ...

... and discover that Dimmitris is hanging out with some of his Czech friends...this totally tickles Jenda's opportunity to speak Czech in a social setting. We plan to meet at our home away from home...The Doors. First round: drinks with D and his Czech friend that he hasn't seen in years that just so happens to be vacationing in Kos with her Spanish bf. We make plans to go with them to some Latin party in Prague on Saturday.  They leave and Manos ushers us in an ...
