Though he spoke very little Spanish we followed his lead to get a bus to the town. It only cost $2. He told us about a few things to do around the area and where to stay. Jimmy James was his name and he said he lived in a party hostel for 3months called the Naked Tiger ...

Cerro negro (black hill) is a small volcano at only 750m high, however it is unique in that it's 1991 eruption left the sides covered in a fine black volcanic ash that hasn't had any vegetation grow in it. ... the atmosphere every day. The coach took us right up to the rim but unfortunately the steam being generated by the volcano means it's not possible to see any activity. It must have always been like this. Legend has it that when the Spanish first arrived they saw a glow in the bottom of the volcano which they assumed was where the indigenous people hid there gold. They rigged up some scaffolding and lowered a bucket down into the ...

Remember when we got our house remodeled? And I was angry all the time because it took three years? And all my friends had to listen to me complaining and blaming and ridiculing counter-tops, marmoleum, contractors and husband(s)?

And when the process was finally complete my patient friends gushed “Aren't you sooo happy now?” “Don't you just loooove it?”

And I pretended to be blissful until after a few weeks I couldn't take it ...
