... the life jacket to swim out to a buoy that marked the start of the dive. When we went under I noticed a few things about the water. The most obvious of them was that the water was as murky as New York harbor. And the unfortunate fact that we had no shampoo in our masks added to the lack of visibility. I couldn't see three feet in front of me. I also found out that it was very fun to play with my instructor's bubbles. This was fun because looking around was close to pointless and ...

... connected Jens phone to the bars sound system and stared pumping Shortstraw, Jonny Clegg and Rodrigues. Okay, I know Rodrigues is not technically South African, but he is adopted. It was amazing.

Another passport check to leave and I walked to this terminal, though "terminal" is the wrong word: if there weren't any buses I'd just think it was a random market/**** stall. The bus dropped off on the side of the road in some market street. No terminal in sight here ...

... adventure we were told would take about 45 minutes, but actually took just over two hours. We arrived in SJDS just in time for the shuttle to Playa Maderas. Unfortunately {nothing about anything we're doing seems unfortunate, but for lack of a better word...} we had to kill a few hours to wait for the next shuttle. We could think of no better way to kill a few hours than to pub crawl along the beach. Oh, and just prior to this pub ...

... have a look around. We go to Taco Stop and get a Mexican salad and fiesta nachos and it's quality. We walk around and run into Mike and Elsie who are having lunch before heading to Managua as they leave for Colombia in couple of days. Good to see them again and hopefully catch up in England when we get there. We decide to walk along the marina bay and head over to the Cristo de la Divino Miscericordia, a large statue of Christ which looks over all off San Juan from the top of the main ...
