      ... Museum. It was awesome to see the Greek ruins and made a nice change from always seeing Italian history. I would have liked to go to the Archaeological Museum as well, but ran out of time and energy. The final morning I headed out a little early to catch my flight back to Rome and was glad I did, as I discovered when I got to the Metro station that the line to the airport was closed because of a strike. I had to catch a different line ...

      ... friendly roof over the excavations and made the whole area very nice to visit and not exposed to the elements. But it makes the area very crowded for tour groups as there are a number of these in the area, which at the moment is probably around an acre. The ruins are quite deep and there are examples of the house having up to 4 or 5 storeys. The town was covered by volcanic ash and pumice, which has preserved the buildings and the contents as the Italian towns ...
