... place which Lachie instantly saw and wanted to do and was like a kid in a candy store. We got off the bus and walked along a tiny road with no footpaths, where the cars and buses and ATV bikes would overtake us (sometimes a little too close for my liking) but we eventually found the turn-off to our hotel and headed towards it. The hotel was a beautiful place on the side of the cliff overlooking the water and a small island in front of us. It was made of ...

A mini-van from Pension Petros was waiting for us at the port and we had a chance to look at the cliffs in even closer detail as we wound our way up the road (which had lots of hairpin bends) to the top of the cliff.
The sunset was lovely in Fira even though it was obscured by clouds. From ...

... long, zig zag path up to the top of the hill. Every turn offers you a new view and as we ascend higher and higher the scenery becomes more breathtaking.

Our hotel was situated just outside of the town of Imerovigli, and although we could not see the Caldera, we still had a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea. Upon arrival the owner Lia upgraded us to a two story apartment with a dining/lounge room, kitchenette, narrow spiral staircase and a bedroom ...
