After the hard goodbye we set off on the road in our newish fiat linea. It was a perfect car for our trip. We crossed the board into Albania and quickly realized that they are a bunch of crazy drivers. Not only were they flying by me around sharp corners but their large trucks ride people's asses! We didn't stop in Albania at all. Once in Montenegro we pulled over for a coffee and to use the washroom as we were 6 hours into our drive. After ...

... rides, clubs, and bars. It's just unbelievable! We will try and take some photos of it all tomorrow night- but I don't know if it will give the place justice. There were so many people around, mostly Europeans - lots of Italians and Croatians. We headed towards the old town where the night starts firstly (the clubs don't start until 1am after the old town bars shut) is another old town surrounded by high walls - and again very pretty. The lane ways are skinnier here ...

... border with Serbia, I was able to exchange my "salty" Serbian currency for a whopping €8.56. We took a walking tour of the Stari Grad (Old Town). Kotor has experienced 3 earthquakes with the last one being in 1979. The Clock Tower and the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon date back to the 1100's but both were severally damaged by the 1667 earthquake. The church had to be completely rebuilt then. Actually the original church was built ...

    Tirana to Budva, Montenegro!

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 01, 2013

... There were dancers on the stage n girls swinging on ropes etc but again the bar staff were pushy n the locals not so friendly and the music was mostly ****. There were also stupid rules about where we were allowed to stand so we ended up to the side. Was pretty cool to experience the Montenegro nightlife but next time will stick to the beach bars where the people are friendly! Burgers n fries on the way home, not excited for a 7am wake up ...

... a bit the sun came out and it was pleasantly hot again. We had a wander round the town before heading back in the bus to our hostel.

There we made dinner (fish fingers and peas) before cracking out some pancakes!!! Woohoo it's a bit of a pancake competition at the hostel now, but ours were more than satisfactoryly awesome :-)
