After we made it to our hotel (Maroc Hotel) and dropped our stuff, we ventured out for lunch to a Lonely Planet recommendation. The food was simple and fairly good, the atmosphere great, but they again asked for an extra 25 dirham upon our leaving as a service charge. That didn’t really endear us to the place.

It was a 500m walk down the Rue Palais, with its high imposing walls and armed guards. The Royal Golf Course runs behind the palace wall for over 600m x 400m, with the Royal Palace in front of it. It’s used by Mohammed VI for occasional visits (he lives in Rabat), with a big impressive space in front of the entrance.
