    Overnight we sailed down the coast of Italy and we were up at 6:15am to watch as the ship slowed down to pass through the Strait of Messina between Sicily and Calabria. It connects the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas and is very narrow with treacherous currents. As we were quite close to the coast, we had excellent views of Sicily.     ... and the men had a beer at a bar. I was so full I could not even fit in an aqua! Luca drove us back to the hotel, which by now was down the bottom of the mountain + 10 minutes away. He had been drinking and was also tired, so it was a bit of a hairy ride home! Once back to our hotel Daniela drove him home and she told me the next day he was asleep within 2 minutes!
