It's Lesley's turn to be entertained in Sicily. Last year, from what I can recall, Signor, Signora e Leslie were joyously entertained in Mojacar by a certain "Betty Swollocks". Unfortunately, we could not find a Sicilian cross dresser but thought there would be plenty of action in Piazza Umberto - the central square - "niente assolutamente morto" at 9pm the bars were shutting. ...

After Palermo I went east across Sicily via bus to Catania, a city at the base of Mt Etna, the largest volcano in Europe, and still frequently active (as it is tonight!! Exciting!!!).
The bus trip from Palermo to Catania was pure madness. The chain smoking driver was either pulling over every two seconds for a durry, or, alternatively, swerving oncoming traffic ...
... an espresso and a torte in the piazza and basked in the sun for a good while. Up to this point I had done quiet a bit. I went to a castle (toured that for a solid hour +); went to at least 5 churches; 3 different street markets; went to all the near piazza's, peering into shops; and now I was enjoying the weather. It's only 11 am and I'm already worn.
That was my morning in Catania!
P.S. I got a new suitcase! ...
