... many hairpin turns. Thank God we were driving a small car, as it is frightening when you meet another vehicle on the opposite side-especially a truck or tour bus. It's like going through the Rockies, only the roads are more narrow (cars pass with difficulty, let alone huge buses) and winding, winding. ... the sound of the river rushing underneath us and the knowledge of being underground all contributed to that bizarre feeling.
