... We couldn't afford to buy anything but Issy and I met a nice golden retriever who was almost as excitable as us and barked on command. There are suppose to be about a thousand of them around the city and it each is marked on a map of Paris, it draws out a space invader. We only saw about ten during the tour. 4.5 hours north of Dubrovnik via bus (including a short border crossing through Bosnia) arrived in Split, another small yet beautiful city. It's the soul of Dalmatia and the site of Emperor Diocletian's well-preserved palace. Explored the city easily by foot and relaxed at a nearby yet crowded Bacvice beach. Took a 1-hour catamaran and spent the day at Hvar Island, the queen of the Dalmatian Islands with crystal clear water, it would have been great to stay there ...
