... if not in temperature, and after that we headed off to Mount Batur, the volcano... let me say that again, Mount Batur, the live volcano on the island. When we got there, I half-hoped/dreaded that there would be a column of smoke coming out of it, but nothing, zip, nada. Nevertheless, the view of the area is impressive. So we woke up even earlier than yesterday. I cannot believe we have managed to completely change round our sleep pattern from practically nocturnal to fully production normal people. I'm quite proud of us :) Today's tour took us far: all the way from the lovely Candi Dasa, up to the Mount Batur lake and Volcano then all the way back down to finish in Ubud. Along the way we of course saw a lot. We started with the best, biggest ...

    Back in Bali

... unfortunately these kind of places are quite expensive to buy from. Our second stop was the water palace, called Tirta Gangga. It's a beautiful garden with a big temple, surrounded by water features, lakes and beautiful ancient statues and carvings. After this we headed to Amplapura, a sleepy Balinese country town, where we visited a local food market. We tried loads of different Balinese sweets but didn't really like any of them, they don't seem to ...
