... provided communications back to Kathy who could then relay information to the mechanics. Kathy and I stayed with the bikes for security. Elizabeth and Janet had gone off in search of a hotel. The rooms were booked at many places and were very expensive but we Did finally find 3 affordable rooms. We were hot and tired at the end of the day, but I was grateful to be safe and sound in a town where services could be sought out.
**It is worth noting here, that people in Louisiana are really friendly. We have heard "Have a good day" everywhere we have travelled in America. Although only a subtle change to "Y'all have a good day" in Louisiana the real difference is you can really tell they mean it. **
**p.s. Louisiana is ridiculously flat! I reckon if we were both 6 ft we could see the whole state without having to move around!**
One week from today I will walk out of the office, start running around like crazy because I just remembered things I still need to get done and then start packing. After a light shower overnight (we stayed dry), today was absolutely perfect. We relaxed all day, doing our own little things. Sherry read her book on a float in the water, Debby laid on her lawn chair in the sun, and I went for a long walk exploring the campground. We had grilled pork chops (not squirrel) for dinner, with wild rice, and French cut green beans with sautéed onions and mushrooms.
