Sunday 8/3 – About 9:00am the ship anchored off Princess Cays (Bahamas) and we caught a Tender to shore. This section of the island is owned by and exclusively for Princess Cruise passengers and is set up just for ‘a day on the beach’. They transport everything to shore ie staff, food, drink, etc. There are about 3200 passengers on this cruise and about 1200 staff. ...

Thereafter, Helvi and mom came with me to explore the island a bit.

... west and northwest winds. We could see sandy beachfront in that area about 2.5nm away and sandy beaches usually mean sandy bottoms with good holding. The still southerly winds were diminishing so any exposure from the southerlies across this large bay would be minimal and temporary, so off we were to the opposite corner of the bay. You see Holland America (the cruise line) owns the island and every Caribbean cruise of theirs spends a day of their itinerary ashore. Mind you it is a very pretty island. Perfect white sand with deck chairs aplenty, meets the clear blue water. Perfect boardwalks and manicured paths take you to amenities.
