... car & up the road to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). The most beautiful campus & again on the Hudson River. Plenty of students walking around between classes, all wearing the check pants, white tunic & clogs. It was also super busy because there was a graduation ceremony. We had lunch at the Apple Pie Bakery cafe, I had quiche & salad & Fray had pumpkin soup. We shared a coconut, salted caramel brioche donut for dessert. ...

... was only 5.30pm so we'd be fine. And we were but I wouldn't do it again. Once we'd checked into the hotel, we walked 2 blocks up the road to get some takeaway for dinner & that didn't feel great either. Very deserted even though an enormous government building was across the road from the restaurant. On the upside, the hotel room was great, big with twin double beds, free wi fi & breakfast included. So, in hindsight... Good sleep, great shower (the important stuff) and ...

... Ben led the pitches like a champ, as per usual! He had climbed up the second pitch and set up the belay for me to follow. All was going well for me up until the point where I climbed to a part which required me to climb out left of the next piece of protection. If I could climb left and up a crack, I would then traverse over to the right where the next belay point was.
