... where the traffic was moving. 14 hours after leaving Diani beach we arrived at the Acacia Campsite tired, hungry and dehydrated. All the transport together cost around 10 euro each, I reckon we got what we paid for. If we ever come back to Kenya we most definitely won't be traveling cheap! That night we had a few beers with the campsite manager Brian and then had a well deserved good nights sleep.
Our last day in Kenya and also our last day before flying home ...
... to Nairobi railway in 1895 100 people were killed and eaten by lions. The Railway required 31000 workers and took 8 years to complete. After the attacks 500 Indian workers fled to the coast and refused to continue working. The deaths were down to 2 lions who were evenutally found and shot. Tsavo is also famous due to the ivory wars of 1973-89 when 5000 elephants were killed each year. By 1991 there were only 4000 of them, but now there are over 10000 ...
Mombassa, Kenya katie-ivison... but hit rocks. We attempted to break them up using mallets, but this didnt really work so we gave up and played with the children some more. At the end of the day we got back into the mini-bus to return to camp and we gave the children a lift to the main road in it. A bus with room for 9 people had the 6 of us, the driver, Sam and Yaryar who do the project work with us, and 17 screaming kids! Very very squashed - i think i had 4 children sitting on top of me!
Diani, Kenya katie-ivison... them 100 shillings....still angry about that. - while the tide was coming in (MUCH quicker than we thought) Jessie and I put our bags on the sand so we could watch them while we went in the water. After literally 2 minutes I saw a guy pointing at something which turned out to be our bags half submerged in water. We ran over and pulled them out at which point I realized I only had one sandal! While Jessie was hysterically laughing I frantically looked for my sandal ...
Mombasa, Kenya michmalb... res nouvelles sensationnellement tragiques !
Mombasa, Kenya ayack... countries. I love it here. It has been good because I have become quite familiar with what is going on so that I can navigate my way on my own starting tomorrow. Well that isn't entirely true because I will be meeting Cheryl and I will fly with her to Mombossa where we will spend some time on the beach. Some highlights up to this point include the crazy bus ride that we took where we ended up staying over night at this ...
Mombossa, Kenya marceynorman... bikini and my brother in dipers.. It was happy days... We run down the beach to a tidal river everyday at the same time. Playing in that tidal river rushing down it on a rubbertube..... Outstanding fun -never again have a experienced a tidal river that fun..It was wild and fast but safe -we did not risk to get washed out to see. I remember snorkling over ...
Mombasa, Kenya p-aI don't think there has ever been a time in my life when I have been this relaxed. I spend so much of my time hurrying around, working, even playing, but really not taking time to reflect and enjoy my surroundings. Well, I have certainly found that and more, and now am sure that I will make more time for nothing once I get back. My days have no agenda, and the last few have been spent on the beach, lazy meals that last 2 hours, snorkeling, reading...whatever it is ...

Dit was natuurlijk ook een heel verschil met de geestelijk gehandicapten.
