... and 50 cents..!! Well that´s what we needed after no drinking in Oz land and driving!! To make a long night in the port...eeuh short, we were in both bars the whole night.!! Met great people and danced and drank till we hit the " Kebab-Time".. The second best Kebab in the world. ( Dubai is still nr 1..) But it was also closing time and we had to get back to the hostel and up the hill!! But in our state that was impossible so we took a cab. And guess ...

... for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we're going to find some more active things to do, maybe a harbor cruise, maybe look at the various museums and art galleries, who knows? What I do know is we're in the biggest, busiest city in New Zealand and it's still a beautiful place. One can only imagine what the other parts of this country have in store for us.

Well we arrived in Auckland a little bit early... Had 4 hours to wait for our connecting flight to Los Angeles. Sat at the airport and there wasn't alot to chose from for foode. We had Burger King or snack bar. While waiting for our flight got talking to an american guy who gave us some help with tipping etc.

... away - another magpie attack. It came in for another dive-bomb before I could locate it in the sky. I looked around, it was up high but dived, picking up speed. I had to concentrate on the road riding along at 35k's so just guessed at the impact moment and swung my fist around, picturing myself getting cut on it's solid beak, but not caring. It must have pulled another attacking maneuver because when I looked around this time it was coming low but gaining on me, fully cinematic ...

... are rickety and the speeds are dangerous but great fun. We finish off the track and get back to the top and head to the gondola briefly watching a 'swoop' swing, one that is tiny compared to the massive canyon swing we did in Queenstown though. Going down the Gondola we get back to the van and decide to start the long drive south to the Tongariro national park. Our intention for the following day being to do the infamous Tongariro crossing which is an alpine route that skirts the conical ...

... and out night flight, so we had a meal and the lights were dimmed and Steven slept solidly through, not even waking when the lights went up and announcements were being made about breakfast. He did eventually wake but refused breakfast in favour of the Disney Playhouse channel again. This boy has become so blasé about travelling! This came as a great relief to his parents as we were not looking forward to this flight.
