Wonderful private accommodation right by the ocean, the food was good, the location was perfect (away from the crowds in town).

After the missing luggage fiasco was resolved he headed back out to the parking area to find a taxi to our hotel, The Sea Koh Samui. I had booked the hotel on-line a few days earlier, an ocean-view room with a king sized bed plus extra bed. Unfortunately PhD stipends limit the amount of funding available for things like fancy hotel rooms in …

All you can eat breakfast buffet for 7€ pp. Not really cheap but we could use a decent breakfast. I will add at this point that this was a purely voluntary choice and not because we've gone all native or fallen on hard times.. Deep fried grasshopper, grub and cricket. I was obviously recording this with the camera and I was still a little too full from my ...

We arrived on Koh Phangan on Boxing Day, and were all very sad to be leaving Koh Tao behind. Nevertheless, Koh Phangan too was an island with white sandy beaches and our hotel was right on the beach in Ban Tai, so that was a nice start. The first day we all just relaxed on the beach, and decided what we wanted to do for the rest of our stay there. On the 27th, we went to Koh Phangans wipeout course (based on the tv show Total Wipeout). I wasn't sure if I wanted ...
