... way to the flight desks and try our luck - most flights are booked, the ones that aren't want 50% more per ticket than online and cash only - total JIP! We decide to take a 20minute taxi to Sanur and spend the week there while we get our visa extensions sorted, if all goes well we will have another month and we can go to see the komodo dragons and the island of Flores for longer. ... actually go out and have some fun! Even within that first hour of being on Bali, there was a HUGE difference in the culture and attitude compared to Java. Bali is an island that is majority Hindu and very relaxed, whereas Java was Muslim and extremely conservative (especially Solo - the least westernized city on all of Java).
