    ... risks here too: the extra heat, the water temperature is +30c (compared to a chilly 15c in the English Channel) and with a much stronger sun beating down on his back, there is the fear of sun burn and heat stroke. To help overcome some of this, part of the swim will be in the darkness of night.

    ... but needed some Aqua shoes as the ground was full of rocks and spikey sea things etc. Will get some shoes then try again! We also bought a lilo to lay over and float on for the snorkelling but didn't get deep enough today to even use it :( Evening - showered and drove to Mama Poohs - little huts to sit in very basic and "traveller" like.     ... pier, watching Thai children play in the dirty water running into the ocean. No joke- I saw a girl who couldn't have been more than five years old playing with trash she found on the beach, eventually she found a huge meat cleaver and was waving it around. Then she threw it somewhere when she got bored of it. I thought it was hilarious but the German girl I was getting drunk with couldn't speak English and didn't know what I was on about.     ... great time we will always remember Songkran.

    Another great thing we did was jump on board the boat from Coral Grand Diving School and did a trip around the island snorkelling. You can read all about that separately though.

    ... having no tread on the already flat tires, knackered suspension, evaporated petrol, broken speed gauge, holes in the seat and an engine that takes some serious warming up everytime before use. Not exactly feeling 'sorted out', instead stitched up, for the same price as a normal rental bike which all look brand new featuring dirt tyres, very useful on these roads!
