The villas are located in the definitely the best area of the island. Very quiet and easy to get to anywhere. Villa had a great view and a big private pool. What made our stay even better was the interaction with the staff, they were all very friendly.
You can snorkel here but for the best views walk 10-15 minutes to opposite "Fruits of Rarotonga", or go by scooter to next to the Rarotongan hotel on the west of the island.

As soon as we arrived at the airport we both had an amazing feeling about the place. First of all the Sun was out and it was a bright clear day. The airport is so small and we quickly found out how small the island is itself, only 31km around and sparsely populated.

On return we could hear the thumping of the island drums and considered going and hanging out the front of Te Vara Nui to hear the finale of the show. We didn’t, we are becoming sooo lazy. It's only 200 meters up the road and we just couldn't be bothered. The Needle has stitched us up and sapped all our energy. For lazy scooter riding tourists we outdid ourselves today.

Clockwise vs Anti-clockwise!
... there are 2 of them: one clockwise round the island, the other anti-clockwise. From where we are, just 10 minutes from the airport on the west of the island, it’s a 15 minute clockwise ride into town. The only problem is that after 6 pm, there are only clockwise buses which means you’ve got to go the whole way around the island to get home!

Lazy Beach Bums
We spent most of our time just relaxing and chilling on the beaches in the Cook Islands. We were surprised at the island as it wasn't as idyllic as we'd thought. Don't get me wrong, the water was crystal clear blue and the mountainous rainforest in the centre was really pretty, but there were certain areas of the island which seemed a little run down and not really cared for. We took the bus that goes right around the ...
