Ive booked my trip tp cairns, and byron is happening NEXT weekend now, and im planning on spending the next week diving, which will be nice :)

Anyway hopefully next week il have some more positive things to report.. less pointless money wasting and arguments with shop owners anyway! :D

... explored all the shops and were pretty fed up by the end of it. The next day didn't get any better, i had been bitten even more, so we left the hostel as early as we could to stay in the city at a much larger (and expensive) hostel, which was more like a hotel so we could chill out and wash all of our clothes. We were much happier here and treated ourselves to beer and pizza in the evening. We left for Brisbane the following morning.

... shark bay was really amazing, also a really authentic small copy of a real reef. Since the weather was hot we went for swim in the pool area, a nice refreshment before the seal show started. Seal show was pure fun, mainly aimed for kids. The main event, the dolphin show, was way different that what I expected. That in a good way, it was very educating, what dolphins like to do and what they can do. After the show you could watch the doplhins in the pool ...

... didn't even know what part of Australia I was landing in except that it wasn't far from Byron and not too far from Brisbane. As I picked up my all too heavy backpack, day pack, bum bag and bottle of wine from the duty free shop, I had absolutely no idea where I was gonna go or what I wanted to do. The guy at immigration was the first officer to ask me a single question in the whole 2 years I had been traveling and entering countries with nothing but a one ...

... good fun to hear what they've been up to and hear how Surfers changes for Indy. We left just before it started... 300,000 people descend for a sex and booze fest.... oh and some race car driving! Fun, fun, fun! We had fun, but getting woken up at un-Godly hours was starting to take it's toll on us, so we left before everyone hits the clubs!

... Yesterday there was a huge night market right on the beach selling all kinds of things, most was complete tat but amongst all that there was some decent stuff including shark skeletons and the opportunity to have your photo taken with a snake, we ran past that stool though. After the markets we headed back to the apartment with Beth and had our last supper, and got rather drunk in the process, the drink of Australia at the moment is definatley ...

Sorry but it's just another quick update. We haven't done much really this week as we have been taking a holiday in a holiday.... We have spent all this week on the Gold Coast around Surfers Paradise. We have 14 day passes to the theme parks (Warner Bros Movie World, Sea World and Wet n Wild) so we have been going to them. The Superman rollercoaster at WBMW ...

... it didn't surprise me with anything new. I guess I was just spoilt by having the Underwater World dolphins up at Hillarys when I was little. An advantage of the Sea World show was the fact that they had 11 animals in that afternoon's show, so there was a lot to see by virtue of the sheer number of "performers". It was great seeing the dolphins interacting with their carers and a child from the audience, splashing each other and launching the carers in the air ...
