Day 20 - Last day at High Life :(

A travel blog entry by katiejgoodwin on May 27, 2015

I am going to miss it here!! The young boys that work here are so hard working and sweet and helpful. Here first thing in the morning til last thing at night every day - I feel so sorry for them I want to give them all a fun day out or something!! I don't understand the concept of working if you never have time to enjoy it but I guess that's how it is out here? Working to survive rather than enjoy it. Rushed through the airport and made it just on time to the gate to be told we were delayed for 4 hours! Sat next to a Russian family with the ...

... a river running through the middle. There was a huge stage in a tigers mouth located at one end with a DJ and professional dancers, Muay Thai stadium, several bar stations, a fire dancing troupe and lots of sectioned off areas doing professional UV body paint. We had a great time exploring, dancing and taking in the unusual surroundings and were fixated by the fire dancers! We called it a night around 3am as we wanted to save ourselves for ...

... there was a strong current and no sooner had I stepped into the water, I had been swept to the sister boat about 10 meters behind ours. We swam to the front of our boat and held onto the docking rope to stop being dragged away. The water was crystal clear and we saw lots of beautiful marine life amongst the rocks. At one point, I was swimming along and the water seemed to change colour - that was because these was a ...
