      Island life

We got off the ferry and were greeted by the insane midday heat! We got a taxi to our hotel which was a pretty hairy ride. They all dart around pretty much constantly over taking cars and scooters, with so many near misses (I found it hard to relax). When we got to out hotel we went straight for the beach to check out our surroundings and get some cocktails. We were staying on Chaweng beach which is the most touristy part of the island and I think has ...

Definitely a highlight of our time here was going to the Full Moon Party. We arrived by one of the many water taxis that left from Haad Yuan. With nine dance floors on the beach, fire tricks, ocean breeze, and thousands of people to watch, we entertained ...

The complex is not really near a whole lot by foot, so unless we had a car or drove around on a scooter, it wasn't easy to really explore Koh Samui, even if only to find a place to eat. To get to different parts of the island we'd need to taxi, which isn't expensive in terms of North American standards, but it can add up. And since I'm not overly comfortable riding a scooter, we really didn't get a chance to ...

... was worth it, worth it in the sense it made you so glad that you wasn't staying there. It was an absolute dive, but then again it does have 30000 ****** up party goers dancing and puking all over the place once a month. There wasn't much there and not being near a full moon there was not many people there either. Taking the drive all the way back to the other side of the island we realised we had once again lost track of time and missed yoga! Oh dear... ...

... had a wonderful brunch inside the restaurant. Me a cheese and egg burger with chips and Adri a spicy chicken noodle salad. I could tell it was spicy by the tears running down her cheeks. Got home for a quick shower and a snooze before heading out to Fisherman's Village, and more specifically, the Emerald Irish pub and restaurant, to meet Patrick. I like the fact that the Emerald is a "pub and restaurant" and not a ...
