... got too deep. Beautiful view of the bay from out in the water. I spent a couple of hours watching new stand-up paddle boarders falling in the water and then headed back to the room. Just as I was packing up, someone pointed out to the ocean saying that there was a black flag. Sure enough, there was what looked like a small sail boat with a black mast. Apparantly its a signal for swimmers to stay close to sure due to strong currents/unsafe conditions.
... I only managed 15 minutes without jumping in the pool. I'd put factor 50 on all the burnt bits but it was getting uncomfortable by 11.30am so I came in, had shower number 2, had a sandwich for lunch and then headed to the St Regis about an hour ahead of my appointment. ... the rain last night, but seeing it today was upsetting. The roof is off all the shell rooms, with just charred timbers sticking up. I know reception was further damaged but I couldn't see that from the road. Will go for a closer look later in the week.
Stopping off at Coconut Marketplace on the way back, I was devastated that the Fish Hut is all boarded up! They are refurbishing the central area so it's all fenced off at the moment. No coconut shrimp today then!
... for the first time the whole trip. We have been wanting to try the macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup. We drove into Kapa'a to the Kountry Kitchen Restaurant. Very good and worth the wait! Spent some time walking around the little shops of Kapa'a. Lots of things to see!
