... National Park. The gorge is a section of rainforest run by the local aboriginal tribe and has a 3km rainforest walk and swimming section in the river. We completed the walk which was very welcome as it was a lot cooler in the forest rather than in the 35 degree heat! Unfortunately we didn't have time to go for a swim in the river. ... br> Next morning our first priority was to get Aussie SIM cards. The first SIM cards didn't work and needed to return the next day to have it sorted. To get a sim we need our passport, fixed abode, and two debit/credit cards.
Visited Westpac bank's ATM and it refused to give us money due to insuffient funds

It was a lush rainforest. We all enjoyed it. Especially the cold spring water for a dip. We all went to dinner at Salsa Bar and Grille. The food was great. Delicious. Today is an exciting highlight, we left Cairns during the rain and boated out on the water to the Great Barrier Reef. During our ride, they explained safety procedures and the diving protocol. We are to do three dives, the first would be the deepest at 20 meters, the second at 14 and the last 8-10 meters. When we got to the first dive site, the skies had cleared up and the sun was out!
