Day 3 & the 3 musketeers set off for the last day of our bike trip. A great downhill ride with magnificent views once again. The tour took us right through the centre of town before reaching our hotel at about 2.30 pm. Loved it but glad to be off the bike! Enjoyed a well deserved bottle of prosecco to celebrate the challenge of our ride. So proud of us all Tomorrow sees us headed for Torino (Turin) via fast train from Firenze (Florence) to start our cheese tour on ...

We are having such a great time and have just arrived in Greve in Chianti, Tuscany by car.
Previously we have been to Lezzeno - This has been our favourite spot so far on our trip spending 4 nights in this quiet little lakeside town near Bellagio on Lake Como. This is the town to come to if you want to avoid the tourism hustle and bustle, its been an awesome few days here, lots of exercise walking and kayaking around the lake. After ...

With the exception of trips to Radicondolli for pizza and Colle de Val d'Elsa for groceries our days consisted of eating ...

... decided to go to a waterpark called Acqua Village. It was a lot of fun. There were two slides called Kamikaze. You can guess the extremity of these slides. The slides consist of a straight drop, then a flat part that comes out of nowhere. The result: a lot of water in your face and not enough breath to process it all. At one point, a man with washboard abs came out and started leading a dance, so everybody joined in. We had fun on the 21st. We went to Siena with the ...

... and we visit them in the barn every day!

Like everywhere else we've stayed, we had no idea what we were actually getting here. We had to wire a deposit of cash way back in March, and just take a leap of faith that it was going to be as good as we hoped. It is. The views are stunning, the pool is refreshing and cold, the proprietors - Giovanna and Giovanni - could NOT be nicer, and Giovanna's cooking is the best we have ever tasted. G and G ...
