We also spotted a street performer – these are aptly named for they literally set up their show in the middle of the street, in front of cars stopped at the traffic lights. Twice we saw a bare-chested juggler, torso painted silver, on the top of a high ladder juggling flaming batons, but only until the lights change, at which point he jumps down and scampers out of the way with his ladder and batons! There are many experiences with the Mexican Post Office that it is regarded as an out of date service. For example an Xmas card from Barry's Aunt in the UK took 15 MONTHS to arrive.
Imagine our amazement to find this Colonial post office - that is still functioning.
To celebrate we bought a post card and sent it to Barry's Mum in the UK - we wonder when it will arrive

... the image of Our Lady Guadeloupe. Our Lady of Guadeloupe is the same as the Virgin Mary, just the "brown version" the Mexicans and Indigenous people believed in. Edgar was our tour guide for the Basilica and he told us that the image has been through so many experiments and miracles that anyone who doesn't believe will believe after hearing. ... to just skip it. But Fernando insisted we see it since we were already there. Glad he did. The Cosmovitral is a building with the largest glass mural in the world, covering all four sides. Plus its got a botanical garden inside so inside feels like eden. I was very impressed! Expectations were low and Mexico did it again...took it to another level.

A great day. One of the highlights.
