We booked ourselves on a couple of escorted tours to see more of Mexico. Our first was to the Teotihuacan Pyramid Valley some 50km NE of Mexico City. This is a major archaeological site of a civilisation that existed more than 2000 years ago. The main structures are Pyramids to the Sun & Moon. The Teotihuacans were very advanced and understood astrology which enabled them to develop a 52 week calendar even then. We saw how they discovered cochineal (cactus pest lavae) ...

We took a cab into town and walked the Malecon. Great artwork.
