    ... to get to La Crosse before nghtfall. That said, did manage to use some of the highways in and around Chicago and was able to get a feel for the area. Beautiful, green, lots of water springs to mind. But it is summer and I believe it gets pretty cold in winter.     ... chirping in the trees and geese and ducks honking as they flew over the lake in formation. Cindy got up when I did, and promptly pulled a chair down to the lake to enjoy the morning.
