We arrived in Venice mid afternoon and went straight down to the beach and a walk around. Our accommodation was only one block away so very convenient. Venice as an area wasn't as nice as I had thought it was going to be but still better than downtown! In the evening we went out for a few drinks and walked towards Santa Monica, the next town along. There's some bars in venice and some on the way to Santa Monica. A pretty decent and cheap night for a Thursday! On ...

... we hung out a lot. He took us to our hostel so that we could drop off our stuff and we then headed to Santa Monica Beach where we met up with his girlfriend. Santa Monica Beach is famous for its pier, which is home to rollercoasters, a Ferris wheel and many food places. I recognized it from a number of movie scenes. We walked down the beach and the boulevard until the sun went down and our stomachs started to rumble. After a lovely Asian dinner and a boba tea desert he dropped us off ...

... 7th Street Station and connected with a bus, no probs. only took about an hour. Got lost on the way back tho - took about 3 hours, haha, and Venice Beach was pretty boring really - a bit like Side Show Alley at the royal show with lots of stalls of stuff or just stuff on blankets that people wanted to sell you. Only saw a couple of ...
