... Fame we peeped into a few shops including an army surplus shop that had 'used' uniforms, ammunition cases and lots of medals you could buy for very little. We also found a great viewing point of the Hollywood sign.

Despite trying to stand out as tourists, we attracted plenty of hustlers trying to sell us bus tours, dinner at their restaurant or a photo with someone dressed up as a Hollywood character. It was pretty unpleasant.

... We were quite early but it meant we could enjoy a few celebratory champagnes and dinner in the Qantas Club, and then boarded for our 15 hour flight home. We arrived in Sydney early Thursday morning, losing a day along the way. After a fairly easy move through customs and immigration we made our way out to the waiting area where Mum, Dad and Kenny were anxiously waiting for us, beaming with smiles and a few tears. Back home we are! Mitch and ...

... bus service. Not so much fun. Howeveeeer, the museum itself was really good and well worth the hassle. So what's the deal? I hope you're ready for teacher mode... Basically, that area of LA has a whole load of asphalt (tar stuff) under it's surface. Every now and again, some of it seeps up (this still happens - that's what the yellow cones in the pictures are all about) and if a lot of it seeps up it creates a tar pit. The pits only tend to be a couple of ...
