... follow several roads around, but the main part is up quite high, past 3,000 feet and you come across this plateau with these amazing Yucca trees, huge boulders which have been eroded out of the ground. We do a walk before lunch around a huge pile of rocks which are in the shape of a face, it's very hot though and I must admit, we are a bit nervous by snakes as it's prime time for them at the moment. We ventured on further to see many more cactus and Joshua trees and massive crops of all sorts of rocks.
We decided it was time to get to Palm Springs, missing the turn off nearly making it to Banning, turn around and end up at Desert Hot Springs. the long way round. We werent at all impressed with Desert HS so found the way ...
... but then we sort of expected that, right? Tom is fixing dinner and it is smelling so good I am having a *************centrating on this blog. Claudia is going to her writing workshop this evening so Tom will have to entertain us. Just kidding.
What tomorrow will bring is still being planned. I want to show Jens a few LA sites and then visit some people. I'll keep you apprised.

... on Saturdays! I had wanted to visit this outlet mall as it had all the sports stores in it - Columbia, Reebok, Adidas, Under Armour, Puma - and I was looking for some new, colourful fitness wear for our freezing fitness room back home. Alas we had no luck - what did I expect from this warm climate spot?

Once the sunset and the temperatures cooled to around 40, we walked across the road to the Yard sports bar/restaurant for a dinner where Phil ate a full rack of ribs with a pint of Bass and Laura had some strange veggie substitute.
