From Pinnacles, I drove south to L.A. along US101/US1. A lot of nice ocean views, but I didn't stop to dip my toes. At L.A. ... racquets for a few other players who are not members but who drop by but only once a year. No one special, just Roger Federer, Raphael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams - yup, ONLY the top World-ranked ATP tennis players who come here every March for the BNP Parabas Open at Indian Wells, just a 20 minute drive from Palm Springs!

Add another 'Wow' to the list of Wow's on this trip.

... Once I'd recovered from the experience, we went for a walk around the meadow at the top of the mountain and out to the lookout points along the route! It was very peaceful and pretty up in the mountains and reminded me of scenery from Homeward Bound! And we saw loads of little geckos out on the rocks sunbathing! Woke at 5am for our huge transfer. Left with little drama the del sol in Anaheim back to LAX to drop the car, steve dropped us at the Marriott LAX for the rv pick up and dropped the car, lucky no dramas with the car, was a bargain. $135 for the whole week. Steve got back in record time in a taxi and not long after the guy came to pick us up. Took a long time to do paperwork and we had to watch a DVD on what to do, cud not concentrate.. eep!
