Now everyone is gathered around and watching one of the Batman movies (I think). I have to be up early tomorrow morning (5:30 departure) to head to Sossusvlei where the sand dunes are located. ... place called "painted canyon" with our friends Jane and Al du Heaume. We had a great hiking day starting in "slotted Canyon" and then went to the next area called "painted canyon". We hiked into the canyon and had great views of Salton Sea. It really looked like the canyon was "painted". It was a vivid display of yellows, red, green, browns... What a great day!

Got to Palm Springs where it was grey and humid...a rarity in those parts. Dumped the car at the airport, which I was a bit sad about (loved that car) and headed to the hotel.
