Having escaped the marshmallow bed this morning, we caught the early boat to Alcatraz Island and spent about two and a half hours taking in the sights. It's actually a really pretty place. We started the day with a slight sleep in. It didn't help that mine and Ryan's room was right on the street, so the garbage truck had been waking us up about 3:00 am every morning - we were tired.
