Florence Update

... to the top of the Duomo. All 461 of them! I went to the Museum on the History of Science. Nobody else wanted to come! We went to the Bibolo gardens, the POnt Vechio bridge and the Duomo. We are quite efficient tourists when we put our minds to it. Florence is not that big really. We are off to Pisa tomorrow. then a day in Rome and home. Cheers

... so my travel agent suggested that we use his service. I'm glad we did!! He was so nice to us. He was on time, had ice cold water waiting for us in his vehicle and that day it felt like it was 90 degrees. It was private and he took us directly to the resort. From what I read on other websites the taxis doesn't take you directly to your resort. They make many stops and you know how one can feel when you've been traveling all day and you just want to get to your hotel ...

Namaste India

... a packet back after my first trip to India. We'd sat on a bench at night, overlooking all the fine old buildings of Durham and had reminisced in a way only best friends can after being parted for intorebly long spells of time. I'd recountered my adventures, we talked of the future and the past, with the sweet taste of the rare cigarettes on my lips. A stranger approched me. I was still buzzing, my eyes darting hither and thither, my mind bombarded by ...

I predict a riot

... my mouth for a good number of hours..trying to get out the city with tear gas, bullets, fires, people throwing stones and anything they could get their hands on and cars being ripped apart was interesting to say the least...Ilka and I found a bodaboda driver to get us out but there were road blocks in the direction we needed and the riots were continuing up as far out as we lived, in the end we had to drive through a ...

On our way to the snow

... other place called 5 star tours & for $85 pp we got our own transport up to the mountain, a tour of Mt Hotham & Dinner Plain & they also dropped us off to our dog sled tour on Sunday, well we were sold at this so we booked it for Sunday. That means we could have a bit of a tour of the surrounding areas on Saturday and we could also sleep in. So after that went to IGA to pick up a few supplies and then back to the cabin to watch NCIS by the fire.

Day 10

Day 10, Thu 13 Nov: Morning zodiac cruise and landing at Cooper Bay. This was challenging for the staff as the small beach was home to many male furry's, with whom they battled a path up to the Macaroni Peng rookery. Quite similar to the Rockies, but cresting slightly different and a bit bigger. Before heading back to the ship, we cruised through the icebergs in our zodiacs. We set sail during lunch for Elephant Island. Talk on Plate Tectonics.

Mui Ne

... order food and drinks and watch the fishing boats out at sea. We went back every evening after that - it was so cheap! They had fresh squid, tigerprawns (about 6 inch ones, none of this tesco 1-2 inch tiger prawn business!), baracuda, tuna, lobster, eel, and much more! Yum!! Our days at Mui Ne consisted of laying on beach chairs on the beach, watching kite and wind surfers going up and down ...
