... SWIMMING POOL!!!! Yes!! Major bonus!! Actually, many places in this part of the Abacos have swimming pools so we have been swimming several times a day for the past 10 days now. It's a refreshing change from all the salt water in our lives! We climbed to the top of the HT lighthouse. Gorgeous views!! I'll post though pictures when I ...
... last day we had to check out early so we hired another car and drove up North to treasure cay - a town off the main island. It was really beautiful here with much bigger homes right by the water and a huge clear beach with cool fish along the shore. ... a monohull, we would have been tossed off the bed every 5 minutes. The anchor held superbly. This time, Mary Beth did the anchor-check by taking the dinghy out with the "look bucket" (glass bottom 5 gal bucket). OK, think 'choppy seas, run the outboard, and then slow down for a quick look at the bottom, through the glass bottom bucket'. She was amazed -- the anchor was clearly visible in 10ft water, even at dusk. We slept soundly, rocked by the waves.
