... Our sail there involved sailing into the Atlantic through a narrow cut (known as the Whale Cay passage) for a few miles to avoid the shallows near Treasure Cay. We needed winds to be from the right direction and mild conditions or else the waves and breakers would become too dangerous. Our winds were NE 10-15 knots and the waves/rollers were 4-5'. It wasn't too bad and there were at least 30 boats transiting the passage. So we had lots of company rocking and rolling ...
... we turned downwind and I went up on the foredeck to check, the Triangle Gas monster had stolen our gas, we turned round and headed back for marsh harbour, We surfed downwind occasionally hitting 11+ kts on big waves and did our best 12 hour session of 84.5miles as the wind howled.

cliffs. Beautiful coral reefs, fish of every color and sea fans were plentiful. It was convenient to be able to run the dinghy from our boat to the snorkel area just outside the channel, about 5 minutes. After snorkeling for about 30 min, Mary Beth climbed back into the dinghy to chill, and Ed went spear fishing --- see the photos. (by the way, Ed had his 60th birthday!)

... a bit of Key West flavor here, but this community is much more subdued than Key West. (Most places are!) The "streets" are like those in the other cays, wide enough for 1 golf cart but not two. In order to compensate for this, many of the streets are one-way. Great. I think we are going to die. We wind up eating dinner at McIntosh’s. Bahamian food is not too exciting, but this woman has found a way to make it delicious. ...
