... and we saw sea turtles all around. We made it to the beach at 6:30 PM, which is later than usual, due to the conditions we paddled in. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, especially because no one threw up, tipped their kayak, or had to switch kayaks. We made it back into town around 8:30, and had to go to the store and eat dinner. At this time, we were all so tired and got the news that we had an 8 mile hike the next day and had to be ready at 7 ...

After eating a lovely meal, we checked out the shops on the estate and then headed over the Kilohana Rum Company to do a rum tasting. We tried the basic rum, dark rum (has notes of vanilla and nutmeg), and their spiced rum. After the rum tasting session, we ended up purchasing a bottle of their spiced rum and a pre-mixed rum punch.

... out we were able to take pictures of us in front of the falls. Attached are several pictures with us holding a University of Michigan (UM) Block M flag. We plan to send the best one to the UM alumni magazine since they publish pictures showing where alumni have traveled. There was also an overlook on the other side of the road that looked down on the Wailua river and the kayakers.

... with a few drinks during happy hour. While we were there we witnessed a beautiful wedding of two gents. We ended our night by heading back to Waimea and having some much needed showers all around (after AAA unlocked the car for us!). Tomorrow we plan on having an open ended adventure day. Where anything and everything, or absolutely nothing might occur. We shall see, but it looks like there is some snow up the mountain thats just begging to be touched by this Montana crew! Stay ...

    ... Dagwood.

We saw spinner dolphins (the only ones who spin in the wild) and a giant Manta Ray, with a 10-12 foot wingspan. He circled gracefully and slowly in the water. One of the idiots on the boat threw him a piece of bread, as if it were a pigeon in the park. That is a metaphor of some of the tourists on Kauai.

The island of Kauai is beautiful, and I had an excellent time with Sherry and JJ. I can't wait for the next trip. I hope everyone is well and thank you for reading.
