... us on the east to an overlook of the Na Pali, and now the end of the road on the southwesterly side. The only way we can see more is by boat or helicopter (and the weather was a little too blustery for either on this trip). We decided we may have to come sometime in summer when the North Shore is calmer, so we can not only take a Na Pali cruise and snorkel trip, but also snorkel the other good northern beaches.

    Waimea canyon

We woke up to a very rainy morning so we decked to spent the day on the road to Waimea canyon, 2-3 hours drive from Princeville each way. We were tossed on whether it was worth it yo do the drive but since it's a ****** day, why not. It turned out to be quite a nice day. We drove all the way over and spent about an hour stopping at each of the lookout points. The Kalalau an Pule lookouts were all foggy so we couldn't see the Napoli coast, oh well! The canyon itself ...

We drove to see the Spouting Horn which was just alright, nothing special and ate our takeout. The takeout was disappointing. So the luau, it's set outdoor on the beach so that was really special for us because I have always wanted a beach luau. There wasn't a live pig ceremony but the food was so ...

... have been laid and warning signs posted that these hikes aren't for the faint of heart. Once we were settled in our little house we rented we realized that just minutes down the road is where the trailhead is for one of these hikes..did we even think twice about venturing out on this hike?! Nope!
The trail begins at Kee Beach as it winds its way up and up and then travels along the coastline with views in both directions of these huge mountains that cascade ...

... first two miles back was not that bad since we used the stream to keep us cool. We were able to put our hiking shoes back on so that made it so much better. We reached the beach and it felt as though we were back in the heat of Florida summer, the temperature drastically increased and the sun was shining strong on this part of the trail. We have 2 miles to go and half a liter remaining which we think is plenty. The last 2 miles was a beast, apparently ...
