... and we saw sea turtles all around. We made it to the beach at 6:30 PM, which is later than usual, due to the conditions we paddled in. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting, especially because no one threw up, tipped their kayak, or had to switch kayaks. We made it back into town around 8:30, and had to go to the store and eat dinner. At this time, we were all so tired and got the news that we had an 8 mile hike the next day and had to be ready at 7 ...

After eating a lovely meal, we checked out the shops on the estate and then headed over the Kilohana Rum Company to do a rum tasting. We tried the basic rum, dark rum (has notes of vanilla and nutmeg), and their spiced rum. After the rum tasting session, we ended up purchasing a bottle of their spiced rum and a pre-mixed rum punch.

We saw spinner dolphins (the only ones who spin in the wild) and a giant Manta Ray, with a 10-12 foot wingspan. He circled gracefully and slowly in the water. One of the idiots on the boat threw him a piece of bread, as if it were a pigeon in the park. That is a metaphor of some of the tourists on Kauai.
The island of Kauai is beautiful, and I had an excellent time with Sherry and JJ. I can't wait for the next trip. I hope everyone is well and thank you for reading.
