So finally.... off to Hawaii! We "bumped" into our friends Mike, Amanda, Mia and Ella at Honolulu airport - now that was an excited reunion! Lots of squealing, hugging and chatting (and that was Amanda and I) - I pity the poor peeps sitting around us on our flight to Kauai!
Kauai is really, really beautiful - our resort is fabulous with an amazing pool (= happy girls), gorgeous walking track along ...

... to watch. I was surprised with the number of curses or other adult references were made in between performances. This is late night so the onus is on me to censor what the children watch so I shouldn’t be that surprised. The Times Square show rotated every couple hours and hence was there to help us ring in the New Year with the famous countdown. So we found our answer to what the other time zones do in the U.S. to celebrate.

... Italy saw a manmade alcove and decided to petition the state for one here. Thanks to the wife’s work on the project, we got to enjoy the safety of the beach as well.

Day 189 - Oahu, HI to Kauai, HI

Mike bbq’s a pork loin on the complex’s grill along with making some rice and steamed broccoli. Later we shared some Ben and Jerry Ice Cream and played a round of computer game of Life. I became a doctor, got married, had a child, bought a Cape home and made lots of money. Not too bad. Though I’d want more children. Games are fun diversions from life.

... area, wrapped in a soft blanket and given tea, cookies and citrus water. Eventually I got dressed and complete with oily hair, went to take in the view from the terrace. One word - magnificent!

A short hike through the "black hole" and up the hill and I was safely back in my room, enjoying a glass of malibu and milk, coconut water and mac nut and raisin cookie while watching the sun set. Ahhhh.... paradise is a place called Kauai.....
