Friday, March 9 - Well we got to leave Exuma Park today at 10 a.m. bound for Sampson Cay. The seas were 2-4 feet and winds E-20-25. We have these adorable little birds called Bananakwits that are not afraid of people and actually fly down below on the boat and will sit on you begging for food (crackers). They come to visit every day. Today we snorkeled on the shallow reefs and saw quite a few varieties of fish. They are all protected within the 176 square miles of the park. We heard a call on the VHF from a boat near the entrance asking for assistance from Exuma Park. They wrapped a line around their stern thruster and had to put out an anchor and can't move their boat. They also indicated there is a shark circling around the boat. The park manager told them that her staff had gone south for the afternoon and there was no one else to help them.
