... loooonnnggg argument about who was to pay the hotel bill. We ended up getting the 2 rooms, $36 food voucher and $300 travel voucher to use for internal travel in US. They admitted that we were owed these items as compensation for the cancelled flight yesterday.

    ... a first time visit and not somewhere that was on my radar. I dare say we will be back some day as it is home to our new found family of Newgrosh's. It was great to meet and catch up with David's side of the family and if I'm going to help David write a book on his father's and grandfather's life sometime in the future (he doesn't know about this btw) we will most definitely have to pay another visit.
    Highlight: dinner with Richard, Carol, Barry and Viv.

    ... in circles dropping off everyone, except us. Another two hours had passed by the time we'd finally arrived at our hotel. Upon checking in, the hotel clerk told us that poor Simon had waited ages for us before heading into town and passed on a note to phone him. We felt pretty guilty.     I had a great time with Angela and Paul last night, hung out with the kiddos and had a delicious lamb roast with great conversation! I ended up just sleeping there because it was a bit complicated to get home late at night and we had a few glasses of wine :) In the morning we had pancakes then went with the kids on a lovely walk through the trails by their house.
