The family's home is above the courtyard, which you can enter via a huge spiral staircase. Relaxing on the terrace
... it agrees with us later on. I don’t want to offend her so we make sure we finish it. And it is a not so common sight to see Jen sipping on a juice for dinner. We don’t really understand much of the menu but find that "your speciality" has come up with some delightful results. Dinner for 3 and a couple of drinks – all for $10 and we do have fun trying to communicate with the cafe owners.

Before heading into the Serra Gorda
The big birthday trip was finally underway. Our backpacks were packed and un-needed items were stowed away in our landlady's garage. Queretato, here we come!
At 7:30 a.m., we caught a direct commuter bus to the Alamo, at southend of Guadalajara. We caught a waiting cab to the new bus terminal in Tlaquepaque and the boarded the 9 a.m. ETM bus to Queretaro. What a bus! There are only 3 seats per row and the seats were just as nice as a being in a ...
