      • Ashlyn wants a pet lamb. Tyler wants one too.
      • Kiwis are kind. The people go above and beyond to help you out and always have a smile.

Up about 8 then we walked in to town to collect our bikes and have breakfast. Lovely muesli, fruit etc for me and poached eggs for J. Then it was on our bikes to see the beaches and wineries of Wahieke. Wahieke also has lots of hills and we seemed to climb most of them this morning!
Our route took us via lovely Onetangi Beach then we climbed up to Peacock Sky winery where we were hoping to join a tour.

      While we are here ...

... were, all of them with people in them dining! At the beachside restaurant next to our campground we had the best (and I mean the best!!) ice-cream cone ever, a salted carmel delight that we have been thinking about ever since! What a way to end our first few days in New Zealand!
Tomorrow we head off, a couple of maps andLonely Planet New Zealand in hand, to start exploring the northland...
