... I even managed to shave my legs without cutting myself from rushing to get them done before the water stops! After showers we made eggy bread for lunch ( we are running out of supplies now) and then we headed out for a little walk. It was a beautiful day today and was actually quite warm. We had a wander down to the beach and watched the surfers for a little bit. It was obviously warmer in the water today too as it's the first day since we arrived a week ago that we've seen ...

With only a few more days in our beloved country, we decided to make the most of the time we had left. So on our second last day before leaving we decided we would go to the Island of Waiheke. After the meal the owners came over to greet Tony and present ...

See volvooceanrace.com if you are interested in the details of this race. These are all really tough individuals working under some of the harshest conditions. Our visit was not all yachts. We spent a beautiful relaxing day on Waiheke Island, just a 40 minute ferry ride from Auckland. ...

... I think we added a few extra km as we did get lost a couple of times and took at least one detour to the top of an extinct volcanic crater, which had great views of the city. Food (and ice cream) in New Zealand has been great, coffee as good as Spain. Stopped at an ice cream stand in Pokeno where you can buy an 12 scoop cone, good luck with that! Tomorrow we start the guided part of our trip of the North Island. Not sure what internet access will be available but will send updates when I ...
