... were the scooters? Having only one other country to compare it to left Denpasar trailing in the wake of Vietnam, not that VN is what you might call an upmarket country. Parts of Denpasar looked like the rundown parts of Saigon with a fair sprinkling of crumbling weather stained buildings. The traffic moves a lot faster here as there are a lot more cars compared to VN.
We made our way through the suburbs towards Ubud and the city faded away and rice paddies and banana trees ...

After the show we headed to Batik clothing manufacturing store which shows tourists how all of the designs are made and continually added upon bit by bit all by hand which was amazing to see. ... that was kind of funny). One of the undercover police officers took me under his wing. They informed me I need to contact my embassy for a translator. My embassy is in Jakarta and I'm in Bali...That won't work, plus...I really feel it is unnecessary! And what I was afraid to hear has finally came out. I'm leaving Indonesia in 4 days and there is no way they can pull that off within that time. They did explain it to me that the system here isn't as good as in Europe or elsewhere. ...
