This morning we did the Rick Steves walking tour of Colmar. It is such a charming place. There is a fantastic and huge market place with fresh meats, fish, cheeses, sweets, and other "produits de Alsace". We enjoyed it. Then we decided to take the car to a couple more nearby villages, Eguisheim and Turckheim. Eguisheim was recently voted one of "the most beautiful villages in France". It was certainly charming! Round outer walls and an inner wall as well. All of the lanes ...

There is a beautiful casino, that was classier than Monaco! The buildings and shops were amazing! We drove back to Strasbourg, and our boat. We then started are sail to Basel, Switzerland. We will spend tomorrow (our last day on the River Melody) in Basel. Tonight we have the crew shop which should be great ...

After my ants on a cracker metaphor, I don’t really have a proper step up to describe the market. It was very busy.

After arriving back at the hotel Abba decided to quickly get us seats on ...

Rebecca and I got up at around 9 a.m., got dressed, and went down for breakfast, letting Ben sleep until he woke up, as we have been careful to do every morning since his Aunt Elena reminded us that at his critical stage of development depriving him of any sleep at all could cost cause him to lose cognitive function. It seems to be working—he's been at the top of his cognitive form ever since then.

Eventually we were all up and ready to start our ...

... spurting hot water, and ate supper at another beer garden restaurant where we enjoyed superb wiener schnitzel (shared by Rebecca and Ben) and wild rabbit in mushroom cream sauce (Mary and me). We walked back to the car, stopping for some gelato on the way, and drove back to Freiburg, finishing the evening with a hot game of casino, won by Mary.
