      ... I got lucky on the left side of the plan with a perfect view of the iconic Hollywood sign (of course I forgot to take a picture!)       ... now had gail force winds for the last week in Desert Hot Springs. Its interesting that if you travel 5 miles south right into Palm Springs itself, it can be perfectly calm. Sheltered by the mountains it is obviously the place to stay down here but as rookies to this, how were we to know.       ... Costa, the founder, has been a chef and restaurant owner in the Palm Springs area for over 36 years. He was one of the few chefs ever invited to cook for Frank Sinatra at his estate. Great food and a fantastic atmosphere.
