From Pinnacles, I drove south to L.A. along US101/US1. A lot of nice ocean views, but I didn't stop to dip my toes. At L.A. I creeped straight across the city on the parking lot known as interstate 10. A couple of hours of good, clean fun. Eventually I reached my last Nat. Park in the state, Joshua Tree N.P.. The park includes parts of two different deserts. I started in the east which is the ...

... to check out and drive back to Vegas but instead we cancelled our reservation there for a few days and will be literally waiting out the storm until Sunday and leave from here then. According to the authorities it was safer to stay put.

We saw Cloud Atlas (good), Alex Cross (not as good as the hype suggests but still watchable), 7 Psychopaths (so funny) and the Man With the Iron Fists (good). We hung out by the pool, which we had all to ourselves, probably because the water was pretty cold! There was a hot tub there as well so we ...

... Eminem and 50 cent coming on stage for a few songs. SJ thinks Eminem is a very angry young man. Overall we had a great time but for us it was just a bit too organised! The best part was most definitely the friends we made. We spent the hot baking day time in either shanty town 1 or 2 and had a great time talking about our different backgrounds, what different words mean in the UK/US (going on the pull/pole freaked out Evan and Nick) and I have to say it ...
