I was immediately fascinated by the beauty of the landscape and the the different vibes of this place. Finally I was not offered a massage at every corner and also the street vendors minded their own business and only got involved on request. I treated myself to a couple of other cheap spa services while Dennis got ice cream and wandered, then we reunited for lunch.

We went to a famous cafe that only serves Balinese roast suckling pig--so delicious. For $4, you get a heaping plate of various cuts of the pig, plus rice and spicy ...

... an octopus, a blow-fish which our guide picked up and handed to me while we were under water (it felt really neat in my hands), a medium sized clam, and some “nemos” swimming in their anemone. At the third and smallest of the islands, Gili Air, we got to walk around and have lunch on land. We walked around the island with two guys from Chez Republic who told us about Mt. Rinjani (a trek we decided to do the next day). That evening Brock and ...
