The drive from Phnom Penh to Kep took about 3 hours along Highway 3, one of the main roads in Cambodia. However, it was still unsurfaced, very rough, and very much 'under construction. 2) You can only get banana/mango shakes between 7pm-11pm as that is when the generators on the island run to power the blender - try understanding that in pigeon Cambodian English. In the midday sun, one needs a good shake. I had to suffice with a diet coke and move temporarily to the shade!!

... meaning it perched on my head. Without map we dubiously made our way to the caves, following a detour via some pepper farms that we didn't intend to go to.

The caves are limestone karst and are holey. They are many nooks and crannies to explore and our helpful guides (in the form of local kids) led us round pointing out tenuous rock shapes, including shark, elephant and dragons mouth. ... get at the Chinese, but lush rich and fresh (yes there's a theme) sauce. Finally a small (serving)bowl of Tom yam shrimp soup, which was warm and had a consumee look with vegetables. Combined it was an incredible feast and from the word go we had our hands covered in sticky sauce so could only photograph our empty plates.

I've convinced Chris that we want to explore some more sights here if only to head back to the crab market. Travelling is not for the thin.
