... see. We drove into Kuta and stayed there for 2 nights, sleeping during the day and wide eyed at night – dreaded jetlag is no joke!

All I can say is get out as fast as you can !! And with the way these taxi okes drive – its pretty fast! The driving is totally chaotic, red lights are a mere suggestion and taking a car on a blind rise is normal driving behaviour – so hooting as you drive around every corner is required to let the oncoming traffic know ...

Found that away from the road and the tourist center the place looked more like a village with boats for fishing and fields full of rice. Of course you had to ignore the odd tourist hotel located in between. While walking along saw lots of people going about daily activities like fixing boats, laundary, farming and weaving.
