    We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
    The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

    ... dumped somewhere in downtown Athens, but not quite the touristy part. I still had no idea where I was. I started walking, trying to measure the density of foreigners as a proxy for how close I was to touristy stuff. Eventually I entered a square of some kind [editor's note: Monastiraki].     ... Giannades, then ran alongside olive groves, before dropping onto the valley floor and returning up an opposite ridge to the town. It was easy going and the sun wasn't sun enough to bother us much. We spotted a dozen abandoned cars in various fields.
