Everyone who visits Aitutaki either stays at one of the resorts or flies in for the lago on tour. We were not doing either, we needed a ride to “town” so we could rent a scooter and see the island on our own. An island representative, who was so incredibly friendly arranged a ride for us, $10 to town, not a bad deal considering the only other was would be to walk.

Tuesday July 15

FLEW TO AITUTAKI – Resident Population 2000.

After 45 minutes in the air we arrived in Aitutaki. It was fantastic flying over the reef and seeing the islands around Aitutaki. We were transferred to Tamanu Beach Resort. We had a buree that looks out over the lagoon. Bob had a snorkel out to a giant clam and I had a lovely sleep. Cocktails in the bar at 5pm ...

19 october Flight to Aitutaki , just 40 minutes. Beautiful view from the plane over this magnificant atoll. Our beach huts are quite rustic, made from palm wood and leavesz, with a view directly to the lagoon. 20/21 October Cruising over the island with our vespa. Well it would have been a long walk but these island folk are just too nice to let people wander around.
