Everyone who visits Aitutaki either stays at one of the resorts or flies in for the lago on tour. We were not doing either, we needed a ride to “town” so we could rent a scooter and see the island on our own. An island representative, who was so incredibly friendly arranged a ride for us, $10 to town, not a bad deal considering the only other was would be to walk.

We saw interesting bird life and lots of crabs. The birds that were of most interest were the Red Tailed Tern, they are unable to walk and sort of flop along on the ground before they fly.
